World Championship Snowmobile Derby
Week
Jan. 13 - 15, 2012 Classic Vintage Races dedicated to the grand old racing machines of the sixties, seventies and eighties. These machines are meticulously resorted, the engines are tuned and reliable and the comeptition is hightly reminiscent of the "good old days".
World Championships -
Jan. 19 - 22, 2012 From its humble beginnings on Dollar Lake to the multi-million dollar facility we all enjoy today; the Derby was destined to be the best. It hosts three separate racing venues: ice oval, sno-cross and vintage racing. Thursday evening features time trials, Friday night features "Friday Night Thunder", Saturday features grueling heats, quarter and semi finals all leading up to the Championship Finals on Sunday. 4th of July Parade and Fireworks Celebration July 4, 2012 11am, Downtown Eagle River. Celebrate our nations' freedom and Eagle River's hometown pride by taking in our spectacular parade. Over 100 entrants and over 60 floats showcase the parade's annual theme. Then, when dusk arrives on this celebratory day, come view the colorful fireworks shot high in the sky over the Hi-Pines Campground located on Hwy 45N of Eagle River. 32nd Annual Guides/Kids Day July 12, 2012 10am - 3pm, Vilas County Fairgrounds. This fun filled day for children between the ages of 7 and 12 years. Area guides come together to share the beautiful northwoods by taking a child fishing for the afternoon. It's a great event where many fish tales and traits are shared and learned. Vintage Snowmobile Show and "Reunion" This is an invitation to all Snowmobile Enthusiasts. Two great days of the "grand old days" of snowmobiling. Friday night includes grass drags under the lights and displays of beautifully restored vintage sleds. Then on Saturday it's a full day of vintage drag racing, swapping and sled showing followed by an awards ceremony and trophy prenstation.
